Ollie Pope’s stellar innings of 148 not out from 208 balls propelled England to a commanding 126-run lead over hosts India by the end of Day 3 in the first Test. England concluded the day at 316/6 in their second innings. Earlier, India were bowled out for 436 runs in their first innings, with Ravindra Jadeja top-scoring with 87 from 180 deliveries. Joe Root claimed four wickets for England.
