According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), in 2024, the United States’ nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices reached $29.017 trillion, up from $25.744 trillion in 2022.
California led all states with a GDP of $4.080 trillion, followed by Texas at $2.695 trillion and New York at $2.284 trillion. In contrast, Vermont recorded the lowest GDP at $45.4 billion, with Wyoming at $53.0 billion and Alaska at $69.8 billion.
GDP per capita figures also showed significant variation. New York topped the list with $117,332, Massachusetts followed at $110,561, and Washington State was third at $108,468. On the lower end, Mississippi reported $53,061, Arkansas $60,276, and West Virginia $60,783. Notably, the District of Columbia reported a GDP per capita of $263,220, surpassing all states.
